Maryann Anderson

Hello!  My name is Maryann Anderson and I have the privilege of working with your children as their school nurse.   Please reach out to me with updates about your child's health status, medications, special needs or concerns. I can also be reached during school hours Monday-Friday at 363-4214 or via email at manderson@yorkschools.org

Please click on the links below to learn more about school health information.

I look forward to partnering with you to support your child's health.

Please report illness-related absences to:

207-363-4214 or email manderson@yorkschools.org

When calling to report your child absent, let us know what type of illness your child is experiencing.  This information helps the school nurse to monitor and track cases of communicable disease such as strep throat and influenza (flu).

If your child has a contagious infection such as pneumonia, strep throat or conjunctivitis (pink eye) ,  he/she should stay home 24  after starting antibiotics(at least 3 doses) and  is fever free without the use of fever reducing medications for 24 hours.

Students must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to school

A 5 day isolation after testing positive for Covid 19 is no longer required. The new recommendations suggest returning to normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, symptoms are improving and, if a fever was present, it has resolved without the use of fever reducing medication.

When is too sick for school?
