Recently, YMS students have had the opportunity to engage in author visits with two fantastic middle-grade authors!
The entire 6th grade was treated to an in-person visit with author Rob Buyea after students finished reading the first book in his series, Because of Mr. Terupt. An engaging presentation was followed by writing workshops throughout the day, where students got to flex their creative writing muscles.
A virtual visit with historical fiction and fantasy author Jennifer Nielsen was offered to all students in 5th-8th grade. Fans Julianna and Willow ran the Q&A portion of the presentation, sharing student-submitted questions and interacting with Nielsen. They did an amazing job!
