7th grade students dabbled in the world of Artificial Intelligence by investigating a variety of tools with the guidance of their ELA teachers Britni Rowe and Clarissa Pentecost as well as the Director of Technology and Libraries, Eric Lawson.
Students worked with AI to create images, art, stories, and various other responses. They also tested their ability to identify AI-generated images and explore deepfakes. At each station, students had to reflect on the benefits and disadvantages of using each piece of technology.
An exciting and eye-opening experience, for sure! Students followed this investigation by holding interviews with community members who have an interest or expertise in AI, giving another element to their learning around this important topic!
