In the days leading up to Thanksgiving members of the YMS 7th and 8th grade Student Council were busy supporting local non-profit organizations in York. The students organized and hosted a Dodgeball Tournament at YMS for their peers to participate in outside of the school day. Funds from this event were donated to the York Community Service Association Food Pantry. The money donated will help the YCSA Food Pantry supplement the items they need that are not contributed.
In addition, a group of the 7th and 8th grade student council members took time from their school day to volunteer at the Festival for "Fostering" Trees. The students spent a few hours setting up and preparing for the event happening this week. They cleaned, arranged items, and set up for all of the trees at Fosters. The organizers were very appreciative of the kids coming over and the kids had a blast helping out! A special shout out THANK YOU to those who helped with transportation!
