Hi Everyone,
We are officially down to single digits—just 9 days to go! As we approach the finish line, YMS is filled with excitement, reflection, and celebration as we recognize all that our school has accomplished this year. Each grade level has special activities and traditions planned to celebrate our students hard work, strengthen connections with classmates and staff, and bring closure to another successful year of middle school.
Highlights of our end-of-year events include:
Grade 8 Six Flags Trip – June 11
Grade 8 Fort Foster Trip – June 12
Final School Assembly (All Grades) – June 12
Grade 5 Bobcats Visit Village Scoop – June 12
Grade 8 Finale Celebration – June 15
Grade 5 Cheetahs Visit Village Scoop – June 15
Grade 5 Field Day – June 16
Grade 7 Newcastle Trip – June 16
Grade 5 Newcastle Trip – June 17
Grade 6 Harbor Beach Trip – June 17
Grade 7 Team Day – June 17
Grade 7 World Cup Soccer Tournament – June 18
We are also looking ahead and preparing for the 2026–2027 school year. Welcoming the incoming class of fifth graders has been a highlight of the past couple weeks. We visited each fourth grade classrooms at CRES for some Q&A , and on Thursday, they made the trip up to YMS to tour the building. It was wonderful to see how eager they are to begin their middle school journey, and we were so impressed by their enthusiasm, curiosity, and thoughtful questions.
We also enjoyed connecting with families during our Grade 5 Parent Coffee on Friday morning. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a positive conversation. For those who were unable to join us, we have included the presentation below. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the transition to YMS. Also know that there will be additional opportunities to learn this information and connect with school staff in the fall at our back-to-school events.
Thank you for working with us to finish the year strong and make these final days memorable for our students!
Sincerely,
Tim & Tisha
